POPULAR TEMPLE IN HYDERBAD

BIRLA MANDIR

Birla Mandir is a Hindu temple built on a 280 feet (85 m) high hillock called Naubath Pahad on a 13 acres (53,000 m2) plot in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. The construction took ten years and was opened in 1976 by Swami Ranganathananda of Ramakrishna Mission. The temple was constructed by the Birla Foundation, which has also constructed several similar temples across India, all known as Birla Mandir. The temple manifests a blend of Dravidian, Rajasthani and Utkala architectures. It is constructed of 2000 tons of pure white marble. The granite idol of presiding deity Lord Venkateswara is about 11 ft (3.4 m) tall, and a carved lotus forms an umbrella on the top. A brass flagstaff in the temple premises rises to a height of 42 ft. (13 m).

JAGANNATH TEMPLE

The Jagannath Temple in Hyderabad, India,Telangana, is a modern temple built by the Odia community of the city of Hyderabad dedicated to the Hindu God Jagannath. The temple located near Banjara hills Road no.12 in Hyderabad is famous for its annual Rathyatra festival attended by thousands of devotees. Jagannath means Lord of the Universe. It is said that this is a replica of original Jagannath Temple of Puri (Odisha) in context of design. The most attracting portion of this temple is its "Shikhara" measuring around 70 feet in height. The red color of the temple is due to the usage of sandstone (around 600 tonnes were brought from Odisha which is being used to build this whole architecture) and around 60 stone carvers got the blessing to carve this temple.

CHILKUR BALAJI TEMPLE

Chilkur Balaji Temple, popularly known as "Visa Balaji Temple'', is an ancient Hindu temple of Lord Balaji on the banks of Osman Sagar in Rangareddy District in Telangana. It is one of the oldest temples in the Hyderabad Dist earlier now in Rangareddy Dist, This temple has no hundi and neither accepts any money from devotees. During a visit the devotee goes through the usual rituals of prayer, including 11 circumambulations of the inner shrine, and makes a vow. Once the wish is fulfilled devotees then walk 108 times around the sanctum sanctorum. the temple was established in 14th century.

PEDDAMMA TEMPLE

Sri Peddamma Thalli Temple or Peddamma Gudi is a Hindu temple located at Jubilee Hills Road no.55 in Hyderabad, Telangana, India. It is very famous during the festive season of Bonaalu. The word "Peddamma", which consists of two separate words, Pedda and Amma, literally means 'Mother of Mothers' or "The Supreme Mother" She is one of the 11 forms of Village Deities and is known as The Supreme most. The two mega events of this goddess namely Mahotsavam and Rathotsavam will be celebrated in February.
